ASD /VSD /PDA/ RSOV Device Closure

ASD /VSD /PDA/ RSOV Device Closure

In the past, atrial septal defect (ASD) closure required open-heart surgery through an incision in the chest using a heart-lung bypass machine. A ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a hole between the right and left pumping chambers of the heart. Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a congenital heart defect – a structural heart problem that is present at birth. (RSOV) is an uncommon condition with a wide spectrum of presentation, ranging from an asymptomatic murmur to cardiogenic shock or even sudden cardiac death.

Features
  •      No need for cardiopulmonary bypass (use of the heart-lung machine) or cardioplegia (temporarily stopping           the heart).
  •      Minimal pain compared to surgery.
  •      No large surgical scar on the chest.
